Beer-Bomb bonus

It’s no secret. I’m a fan of Shipyard beer. You can read my column about the new Shipyard Emporium in Winter Park here.

I also love the events assistant general manager Mike Smith orchestrates and the company sponsors to push the brand.

Two are coming up in the next couple of weeks.

The first is the Beer Bomb Bike Tour, similar to a pub crawl but on a bike. This one involves an overnight trip to New Smryna Beach. Meet at Colonial Lanes at 400 N. Primrose Drive in Orlando on Sunday at 11 a.m. and board the Shipyard Bus that will take you (and your bike) to the Sea Vista Motel. From there it will be a bike tour of bars and restaurants with a craft beer at each stop. It’s $10 for the round-trip bus ride, which will bring you back to Colonial Lanes at 2 p.m. Monday.

The next event — a Beer Bomb Bus Tour — is a day trip. Meet at The Shipyard Emporium at 11 a.m. March 14. The Shipyard Bus will take you to Palm Ridge Reserve in Umatilla, O’Keefe’s Irish Pub and Restaurant in Tavares and Abbey in DeLand. Each stop will include a class and a featured whiskey or beer. The bus returns at 6 p.m. Tickets are $40.
